Adobe Illustrator Workshop 2023

The Adobe Illustrator Workshop, held on August 10, 2023, at the Computer Center, was a comprehensive and insightful session aimed at imparting essential skills in graphic design and Adobe Illustrator proficiency. The workshop was organized by the ACM Student Chapter with the vision of enhancing students' design capabilities and equipping them with practical tools for their academic and professional pursuits.

The workshop commenced promptly at 11:15 am and spanned two hours, concluding at 1:15 pm. Ms. Ananya Solanki and Ms. Srushti Kale were the speakers for this event. Ms. Khushi Shetty and Ms. Annanya Zadbuke also assisted teaching the students. The content of the workshop was thoughtfully structured, covering a wide range of topics from foundational concepts to advanced design techniques.

The workshop began with Ms. Ananya Solanki, Design Head, ACM-DBIT illustrating the significance of Adobe Illustrator as a versatile tool in the design ecosystem. She adeptly explained the fundamental differences between Illustrator and Photoshop, highlighting their specific use cases and strengths. The participants gained clarity on when to choose Illustrator over other design software. One of the workshop's focal points was the exploration of Illustrator's practical applications, including its role in crafting logos, posters, social media banners, and infographics. This was followed by a step-by-step guide on installing the software, ensuring that participants could swiftly transition to hands-on practice, Basics of Illustrator, an essential foundation for design endeavours, were meticulously covered by Ananya. Attendees received comprehensive insights into utilizing the Shape Builder tool, Pen tool, pencil tool, and managing colors through gradients and blending. Srushti, a co-presenter, took over to delve into more advanced topics of Adobe Illustrator..

The programme concluded with a small assignment given to the students to design a poster using Adobe Illustrator. The Illustrator Workshop was a resounding success. The workshop not only imparted valuable design skills but also inspired creativity and innovation among the participants. The various doubts of the students were cleared during the workshop, and the students were left with a thorough understanding of the basics of this topic. The execution of the event's content and structure was successful, and the helped foster and encourage academic and professional growth in the realm of designing.
