Photoshop Workshop 2024

ACM-DBIT organized a Photoshop workshop on the 14th of August 2024, aimed at providing students with essential design skills and knowledge of Photoshop tools, crucial for their upcoming projects and roles within the design team.

The workshop commenced promptly at 11:15 AM in the Computer Centre, with Mr. Sahil Davkhar, the Creative Head, taking the lead. Mr. Davkhar began by introducing the students to the Photoshop interface, explaining the various menu options and toolbar configurations. He covered key tools such as the Lasso tool, Quick Selection tool, Slice tool, Eyedropper, Healing and Clone Stamp tools, Magic Eraser, Gradient, Sharpen, and Dodge Burn tools, along with the Text and Shapes tools.

Following this introduction, Mr. Davkhar delved into the concept of layers and blending options, highlighting features like Stroke, Shadow, and Color Gradient Overlay. His detailed explanations provided the students with a solid understanding of how to manipulate images and create dynamic designs using Photoshop.

Subsequently, Mr. Daryl Raj, another key speaker, took over the session. He guided the participants through a hands-on activity where they learned to create a promotional sports car poster. Throughout the activity, both Mr. Davkhar and Mr. Raj shared valuable design tips and tricks, enriching the students' learning experience.

This workshop also served as a platform to identify candidates for the position of Assistant DesignHead and other roles within the design team. The interactive and practical nature of the workshopallowed the participants to demonstrate their skills and creativity effectively.

The session concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where Mr. Joshua Menezes, the Chairperson ofACM-DBIT, presented certificates and tokens of appreciation to both speakers, Mr. Sahil Davkhar andMr. Daryl Raj, for their contributions to the workshop. The attendees were also given certificates fortheir participation.

This Photoshop workshop not only equipped the students with essential design tools but also providedthem with the opportunity to showcase their abilities, preparing them for future responsibilities withinthe design team.
